Melon Bark Jam:The Delicious Anti-Waste Recipe!

Melon Bark Jam:The Delicious Anti-Waste Recipe!

What to do with melon skin?

Answer:a delicious melon peel jam!

Because when you eat a melon, you throw away the skin.

At best, we put it in the compost...but we don't do anything with it.

Still, melon skins are more useful than they look.

This zero waste recipe has the good taste of melon and not of the skin as I initially thought.

Plus it's easy and really cheap, so why not?

Here is my delicious anti-waste melon peel jam recipe . Watch:

Melon Bark Jam:The Delicious Anti-Waste Recipe!

And There you go ! Your delicious melon peel jam is already ready :-)

Easy, quick and delicious, right?

And besides, it costs next to nothing!

If you have a Thermomix or a food processor, the jam will have a perfect texture too.

Don't worry, the jam tastes good like melon.

It doesn't taste like bark at all.

It can be eaten with a cake, toasted brioche or bread in the morning, but also with sheep's cheese for example.

My additional advice

As we cook the skin of Charentais melon, preferably choose organic fruit.

Or, wash them with this trick to remove pesticides.

You can absolutely halve the quantities if you don't have enough melon skin.

And don't forget the "Vitpris" sugar which allows the jam to gel well by reducing the cooking time a little.

Once thoroughly cooled, close your glass jars and store them upside down in a cool, dark cupboard.

Variants

This recipe can also be made with watermelon, watermelon or yellow melon rinds.

You can also put some spices instead of vanilla or even a little orgeat or orange blossom syrup.

And why not mix melon with other summer fruits?

Strawberries, apricots, peaches, blackcurrants, cherries, currants...

Or with apple, bananas, basil, orange or fig.
