Ingredients

For 4 people

  • 150 g of raisins: €4.84 per kilo, i.e. €0.73
  • 1/2 liter of milk: €0.71 per liter or €0.35
  • 100 g of candied orange: €29.70 per kilo, i.e. €2.97
  • 150 g of powdered sugar: €1.19 per kilo, i.e. €0.18
  • 2 eggs: €0.50
  • 10 pieces of white sugar

How to

Preparation: 40 min - Cooking: 50 mins

  1. Soak the raisins in hot water for 15 min.
  2. Crumble 200 g of stale bread into a bowl. Pour 1/2 liter of boiling milk over it, cover, and let it swell.
  3. Finely chop 100 g of candied orange and drain the raisins.
  4. Incorporate the chopped orange and drained raisins into the bread mixture.
  5. Whisk the mixture briefly, then add 150 g of sugar, 2 beaten eggs, the raisins, and orange.
  6. In a cake tin, caramelize 10 sugar cubes with 2 tablespoons of water.
  7. Once the caramel is ready, slowly coat the walls of the mold, then pour in the mixture.
  8. Bake in a moderate oven for 50 min.
