How to

1. Preheat your oven to 160°.

2. Butter the inside of the jars.

If your jars have wire ties, remove them.

3. With an electric whisk, beat the melted butter and sugar in a large bowl, until well incorporated.

4. Add eggs, bananas and water. Whisk this mixture until light and fluffy.

5. In another container, mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and cloves well.

6. Add everything to the banana mixture. Do it in batches and in small batches, mixing well with each addition.

7. Stir in the nuts last.

8. With a large spoon, fill the jars halfway with the mixture.

You can also make your own pocket:just put the mixture in a plastic bag and cut a corner. Squeeze the pouch to control the flow of the mixture.

9. Before cooking, take care to wipe off any dough stains with a cloth humid. Don't put on lids on the jars.

10. Put the jars in the oven on baking paper for 40-45 min.

In the meantime, you can sterilize the mechanical device of the jars in boiling water.

11. Remove the jars from the oven and put the lids on. The heat released inside will help seal them tightly.

Once the jars have cooled, enjoy! If there are still some left, your jars will keep for up to 1 week in the fridge.

12. You don't have to make the banana cake in jars.

You can also use 2 cake molds (the ideal is 23 x 13 cm moulds).

But this extends the cooking time to 55-60 min.

13. To know if your banana cake is ready, insert a toothpick in the center. If it comes out clean, your dessert is ready!

There you go, you can now enjoy your homemade banana cake :-)

There are 2 reasons to choose to prepare your banana cake in jars:

1. To offer them as gifts

There is an advantage to preparing several jars at the same time.

It's a nice gift to give to your neighbors and colleagues, to bring to a party or to give as a Christmas present.

2. To keep them in the freezer

If the jars are well sealed, you can even put them in the freezer:for several months!

It makes a great little dessert when you don't have time to cook.
