Ingredients
For 8 pieces
- 275 g wholemeal flour
- 125 ml unsweetened oat milk
- 75 g Becel Creamy, at room temperature + extra for spreading
- 400 g minced seitan
- 7 g (1 sachet) dried yeast
- 4 tbsp breadcrumbs
- 1 tbsp fine granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp flour
- 1 tbsp sunflower oil
- 1 tsp mustard
- 2 tsp soy sauce
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp ground coriander seed
- ¼ tsp nutmeg
- ¼ tsp mace
- ¼ tsp ginger
- 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
Preparation method
- Warm the oat milk in the microwave or a saucepan until lukewarm but not boiling. Stir in the dried yeast and sugar, then let stand for 5 minutes.
- Meanwhile, on a large work surface, mound the flour and salt. Create a well in the center and pour in the milk-yeast mixture. Add the Becel Creamy and mix with your fingers to form a paste, gradually incorporating flour from the edges until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough vigorously for 5 minutes into a smooth ball. Divide into 8 equal pieces, shape into balls, place on a parchment-lined baking tray, cover with a clean tea towel, and let rest for 30 minutes.
- Prepare the filling: Mix the minced seitan with mustard, soy sauce, sunflower oil, ground coriander, nutmeg, mace, ginger, cayenne pepper, and breadcrumbs. Divide into 8 equal portions.
- Roll each dough ball into an oval shape. Place a portion of filling in the center, fold over the short ends, then the long sides. Seal well and place seam-side down on the baking tray. Cover and let rise for 45 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 200°C. Brush rolls with Becel Creamy and bake for 30 minutes until golden brown.
