Ingredients

for 8 pieces

  • 250 g wholemeal flour
  • 250 g Becel Creamy from a tub
  • 100 ml water
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 Goudreinette apples
  • 2 Conference pears
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp orange blossom water
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp cardamom
  • powdered sugar, to taste
  • sunflower oil, to cover

Preparation method

  1. Place a sheet of baking paper on the counter, spread 200 grams of Becel Creamy over it, fold the paper in half enclosing the spread, roll flat to a 1 cm thick square, and chill in the refrigerator.
  2. Sift the flour into a bowl, add 50 grams of cold Becel Creamy, water, and salt. Knead into a smooth dough ball, wrap in plastic, and rest in the fridge for 30 minutes.
  3. Remove dough and Becel square from the fridge. Flour your work surface and rolling pin. Roll dough into a circle slightly larger than the original ball. Center the Becel square on it and fold edges inward to enclose.
  4. Roll into a rectangle, fold into thirds. Rotate 90 degrees, roll again into a rectangle, and fold into thirds. Wrap and chill 30 minutes. Repeat twice more, with 30-minute chills between, plus one final 30-minute rest.
  5. Peel and core apples and pears, dice into 5 x 5 mm cubes. Toss with sugar, lemon juice, orange blossom water, cinnamon, and cardamom. Set aside.
  6. Roll dough to a 5 mm thick large rectangle. Cut lengthwise in half, then each half into quarters for 8 squares.
  7. Preheat oven to 200°C.
  8. Place squares on counter. Spoon apple-pear filling in triangles onto half of each, leaving edges clear. Fold diagonally over filling, seal edges. Brush with sunflower oil. Bake 25 minutes until golden and crisp.
  9. Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm immediately!
