Nasi is tasty and an easy dish to use leftover vegetables. But how do you make the best fried rice? We can share the HelloFresh recipe, so that you can make the spicy fried rice at home without a box with vegetables, chicken thigh fillet and fried egg.

Ingredients per person

  • 85 g brown rice
  • 1 cm fresh ginger
  • 100 g chicken thigh pieces
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 5 ml fish sauce
  • 1 tbsp caikon cress
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 150 g cauliflower
  • 75 g carrot
  • 1 tsp curry spices
  • 1 egg
  • 175 ml vegetable stock
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 0.5 tbsp butter
  • 0.5 tbsp sunflower oil
  • Pepper and salt to taste

Get started

  1. Prepare the stock in a pan with a lid for the rice. Add the rice and cook, covered, 12 – 15 minutes. Then drain if necessary and let it steam out without the lid.
  2. In the meantime, finely chop or crush the garlic. Peel the ginger and chop finely. Cut the flower of the cauliflower into crumbs and the stem into even small pieces. You can also use a blender.
  3. Heat the butter in a wok or frying pan and stir-fry the chicken thigh pieces, garlic and ginger for 5 minutes over medium heat. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Add the carrot, cumin and curry spices and stir-fry for 3 minutes. Add the cauliflower, cooked rice, fish sauce and soy sauce and stir-fry for 5 minutes.
  5. Heat the sunflower oil in a frying pan, fry 1 fried egg per person and season with salt and pepper.
  6. Distribute the fried rice among the plates. Cut the cress loose and garnish the meal with it. Serve the fried rice with the fried egg.
