Homemade Spelt Date Crackers: Crispy, Nutritious Recipe

Make your own crispy, seed-packed spelt date crackers at home with this reliable recipe. A wholesome snack loaded with natural goodness.

Ingredients
For 1 baking tray
Preparation time: 20 minutes + 1.5 hours waiting time

  • 6 dates without pit
  • 80 g sunflower seeds
  • 40 g pumpkin seeds
  • 80 g sesame seeds
  • 150 g spelt flakes
  • 5 tbsp grapeseed oil
  • 1 tsp chlorella powder
  • Additionally required: stick blender with chopper or food processor, baking paper

Instructions
Coarsely chop the dates and add them to a chopper or food processor with the sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, and spelt flakes. Pulse for 30 seconds—avoid chopping too finely. Transfer to a bowl, stir in the chlorella powder, ½ tsp salt, grapeseed oil, and 200 ml water. Mix well and let soak, covered, for 30 minutes.

Line a baking tray with baking paper. Preheat the oven to 160°C fan. Spoon the mixture onto the center of the paper, top with a second sheet, and roll out evenly using a rolling pin. Remove the top sheet of paper.

Bake for 30 minutes until golden brown. Remove from the oven and immediately cut into pieces. Cool the crackers off the baking tray. Pair with cottage cheese and tomatoes for a delicious snack.

Enjoy your meal!
