Dog cakes, the cute creations of an American pastry chef

Small dog lovers – we all are a little deep down inside, right? — were thrilled to learn they could spend Halloween in the company of pugs in costume. Of course, that requires crossing the Channel and going to the Pug Café, in the heart of London. Never mind, if we can't go to the pug, the pug will come to us! And more precisely on our plates (no, don't imagine that…) thanks to the gourmet recipes of Adriana Adarme, a renowned pastry chef based in Los Angeles. The young woman has indeed developed a cake representing the head of said dog, which is also the pet of her best Alana Jones-Mann (she is also a cooking pro!). And that's not all:herself the owner of Amelia, an adorable corgi, she repeated the experience with a layered dessert, this time bearing the image of her four-legged friend.

A chocolate cake and buttercream

Result:the two cakes are arguably the cutest ever made on this planet (we're hardly exaggerating), and they look as good as they look. Adriana Adarme started by baking a traditional 3-tier chocolate cake (about 15 centimeters high), which she covered with buttercream – the light brown color was obtained by mixing a dark cream and a white cream. Attributes such as ears, eyes, muzzle were made with colored marzipan. And tada, voila (the full recipe in English can be found on the young woman's blog A Cozy Kitchen). The icing on the cake (it's the case to say it!):the creations are perfect for Instagram. And we also want to see your versions if you try it! Good luck!
