Here's my tried-and-true recipe for Gruyère lollipops – just 3 cents each for a fun, budget-friendly aperitif:

For 4 people
- 100 g grated Gruyère cheese (makes about 20 lollipops)
- Toothpicks or cocktail sticks
Preparation: 15 mins – Cooking: 5 mins
1. Preheat oven to 180°C.
2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
3. Spoon small piles of grated Gruyère onto the paper and flatten into rounds.
4. Place a toothpick in the center of each and cover with a bit more cheese to secure.
5. Bake for 5 minutes until melted but not browned.
6. Remove from oven and cool briefly until cheese firms up.
7. Gently lift off with a spatula.

A quick, easy recipe that's always a hit.
Elevate plain lollipops with flavors! Kids like them simple, but adults enjoy spices like turmeric, curry, cumin, pepper, mustard, or cinnamon – just sprinkle before baking.
I often mix in grated Parmesan for extra depth. A winning combo from years of experimenting!
- 100 g grated Gruyère: €6.33/kg, or €0.63 total
That's 0.03 € per lollipop – about 20 for €0.63.
Can't beat this thrifty aperitif!
