WTF:In China, Oreos are sold in chicken wings and wasabi flavors

It is well known that Asian countries welcome original variations of food products that are well established in the West. Among the brands concerned, we find Oreo, which markets small round chocolate cookies filled with a white cream. If in the fall of 2017 we had identified 5 flavors exclusively sold in China that we wanted – including birthday cake, green tea and pumpkin spice – it is not exactly the same for those that will follow… Indeed, the country has just launched two new tastes that will certainly not be unanimous in Europe:fried chicken wings and wasabi. The agrifood and confectionery giant Mondelēz – which owns Oreo – unveiled the new features on its Twitter account.

Neon colored cream

The new biscuits described as “bold” are so even in their appearance:the usually white cream has taken on a very bright orange color for the fried chicken wings flavor and green for the wasabi taste. Unsurprisingly, the reactions of Internet users were quick to flow. While some say they are curious about the Oreo wasabi, a majority expressed by “WTF” and “Nope” their incomprehension or even their disgust at the two extraordinary products. It's a safe bet that these tastes won't go beyond the borders of China, which is characterized by its food-loving population that pushes the limits ever further... And it's probably better that way!
