4 Brazilian herbal and fruit tea cocktails

Brazil – the land of samba and joie de vivre, as well as mate and guarana teas, which are drunk around the clock. They contain caffeine and are tasty, the ideal source of energy for dance evenings and long football evenings. As a basis for alcohol-free, fruity cocktails, they bring rhythm to the glass and to the limbs. Try these four herbal and fruit tea cocktails, which score with the unique taste of mate and guarana.

Mate com limão brasileiro
(Mate with Brazilian Lime)
Ingredients for 2 glasses:
1 tea bag or 1 teaspoon green mate tea
2 tea bags or 2 teaspoons lime tea
1 teaspoon sugar
250 ml sparkling boiling water
Ice cubes
2 lime wedges for garnish

Preparation:
Pour 250 ml of boiling water on the tea and let it steep for 3-5 minutes. Pour the hot tea over about 8 ice cubes. Stir the sugar into the cold tea and divide between two glasses filled with ice cubes. Cut the lime slices in half and place them on the rim of the glass.

Mate com alcauz

Ingredients for 2 glasses:

1 tea bag or 1 teaspoon mate tea
1 tea bag or 1 teaspoon licorice tea
1/2 teaspoon sugar
250 ml sparkling boiling water
Ice cubes
2-4 sticks licorice

Preparation:
Pour 250 ml of boiling water on the tea and let it steep for 5-7 minutes. Pour the hot tea over about 8 ice cubes. Stir the sugar into the cold tea and divide between two glasses filled with ice cubes. 1-2 sticks of licorice are used per glass as decoration or for stirring.

Guarana no gelo 
(Guarana on ice:Guarana with cherry and hibiscus)
1 tea bag or 1 teaspoon guarana tea
1 tea bag or 1 teaspoon cherry vanilla tea
1 tea bag or 1 teaspoon hibiscus tea
2 teaspoons sugar
250 ml sparkling boiling water
Ice cubes
approx. 16 cherries from the glass
2 wooden skewers

Preparation:
Prick eight cherries on each of the two wooden skewers and freeze them in the ice box. Pour 250 ml of boiling water on the tea and let it steep for 3-5 minutes. Pour the hot tea over about 10 ice cubes. Stir the sugar into the cold tea and divide between two glasses. Add 1-2 ice cubes per glass and use the cherry skewers as stirrers.

1 tea bag or 1 teaspoon guarana tea
1 tea bag or 1 teaspoon ginger tea
1 tea bag or 1 teaspoon elderflower tea
1 tea bag or 1 teaspoon mint tea
2 teaspoons sugar
250ml sparkling boiling water
Ice cubes
2 stalks mint for garnish

Preparation:
Pour 250 ml of boiling water on the tea and let it steep for 3-6 minutes. Pour the hot tea over about 10 ice cubes. Stir the sugar into the cold tea and divide between two glasses. Add 1-2 ice cubes per glass and garnish with the mint.
