How to Make This Ultra-Creamy No-Bake Dessert

INGREDIENTS:

  • 120 g of flour
  • 1 liter of milk
  • 80g + 90g sugar
  • 100g unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 20 cl + 10 cl of water

PREPARATION STEPS:

  1. In a saucepan over low heat, melt the butter.
  2. Once the butter is browned (it should sizzle), add the flour and whisk to combine.
  3. Gradually pour in the milk while whisking continuously for a smooth, lump-free mixture.
  4. Add 80 g of sugar and the vanilla extract, stirring until the cream thickens.
  5. Remove from heat, let cool slightly, then pour into a glass cake dish.
  6. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  7. Meanwhile, mix the cornstarch with 20 cl of water in a bowl and set aside.
  8. For the caramel: In a pan over low heat, add 90 g of sugar and stir constantly with a wooden spatula until it turns a light caramel color.
  9. Add 10 cl of water while stirring, then incorporate the cornstarch mixture.
  10. Cook until thickened to a creamy caramel sauce consistency, like Salidou.
  11. Remove the milk cream from the fridge, pour the caramel on top, spread evenly, and refrigerate again.
  12. After 30 minutes, it's ready to enjoy!
