Oreo cookies

Oreo cookies are originally American and although the cookies have only been a hype for a number of years, they have been around since 1912. Of course the recipe has been adjusted in between and the original Oreo cookies as we know them now are made according to a recipe from 1952. The cookies consist of three layers:the top and bottom are chocolate cookies with a white, soft filling in the middle.

Nabisco, the company behind Oreo, has responded well to the new hype. In the meantime, countless variants have arisen on the original Oreo cookies. Handy mini Oreos also respond to the need to have a small snack. The Oreo cookies have found their way into many kitchens and one recipe after another appears. From chocolates to cakes and even the large M occasionally uses these cookies in his milkshakes.

  • 1 pack Oreo cookie (439 grams)
  • 1 pack of Cream Cheese (230 grams)
  • White melting chocolate
  • Chocolate decoration markers (optional)
Preparation
  1. To start, the Oreo cookies need to be crumbled. This is of course easiest in a food processor, but if you don't have one (like me) you can put the cookies per 4-6 pieces in a ziplock bag and then go over it with the rolling pin. The crumbled biscuits are placed in the bowl

  2. Continue until all cookies are crumbled

  3. Add the cream cheese to the cookie crumbs. In the beginning you can mix the cream cheese with the crumbs by using a fork, but you can also save yourself the trouble, wash your hands well immediately and mix it all together with your hands

  4. Then make balls (the size of a walnut) from the resulting dough and place them on the tray lined with baking paper. With the above quantities you can make about 25 Oreo cheesecake truffles

  5. Place the chocolates in the fridge for at least half an hour

  6. Melt the white chocolate and dip the chocolates in it. For this you can use a skewer or a wooden skewer

  7. Let drain briefly above the container and place on the tray lined with baking paper. Because the bonbons come from the fridge, the chocolate immediately hardens

  8. If desired, you can add decorations with a decoration marker (I used a decoration marker with milk chocolate flavour)

  9. Then place the Oreo cheesecake bonbons in the fridge for at least 15 minutes
