Hard-boiled eggs:5x slightly different

At Easter an egg is of course part of it, rather wiedes. But that doesn't mean you have to stick to the standard hard-boiled eggs. Give your Easter breakfast a funny twist, and also make eggs with a wink. Fun to make, and fun to surprise the kids with. Bet they like these eggs as much as their chocolate colleagues? A word of advice:make sure you have carrots at home. That's perfect for making beaks and legs 😉 .

Egg tip 1:All eggs in a row, hard-boiled eggs as a chicken

Normally the Easter table is of course full of egg cups. But why not serve the boiled eggs differently? Turn Easter breakfast into a cozy chicken coop, then that Easter brunch will definitely be a hit!

Provide hard-boiled eggs. Cut beaks with carrot slices and a good comb for each chicken. Make a small incision at the top of the egg, where you clamp the beak and comb. You can make the eyes from chia seeds:they stick easily to the egg. Serve the chickens on a bed of arugula, or make it a cheerful party by decorating the whole with colored fruit. A piece of cake right?

Egg tip 2:The Easter eggs are hatching!

What came first? The chicken or the egg? This egg tip is sure to spark conversation during Easter breakfast! Although you may have to explain to the kids that no real chick will hatch from their egg.

Again, make sure to use hard-boiled eggs, otherwise something will come out of your egg. Don't you turn your hand for some creative carving? Then you can make these cool hatching eggs in no time. Carrot is easy for that, but you can of course use all kinds of ingredients for it. To make it easier on yourself, you can use fondant molds to cut out the beaks and legs. The letters E and W are tilted like a mohawk 😉 .

Egg tip 3:My name is Haas, how sweet is such a hard-boiled egg?!

Hard-boiled eggs are not only part of Easter.. of course we can't forget the Easter Bunny! And since he's already busy enough hiding the eggs, Hare might not want to spend hours in the kitchen. For a funny Easter breakfast that is ready very quickly, go for this option. Because Haas should of course still be able to enjoy his (or her) weekend off! Would you rather join us in the search for eggs than prepare them? Then this quick recipe is for you – and the result is impressive.

Cut the hard-boiled eggs into the correct shape. Matter of taking a good look at the picture, you moms and dads should probably succeed 😉 . Then decorate the whole with all the creativity you have in you. Maybe the kids would like to lend a hand and make their own hare? Oh and pssstt… my name is 'Hare'!

Egg tip 4:Look, make a chick from boiled eggs

Who can resist them, those little yellow chicks that you are flooded with again around Easter? Personally, I have a weakness for those bright yellow down things. And this snack proves that they also taste delicious! It does take a little more time, because you are going to make deviled eggs from your hard-boiled eggs. Don't you turn your back on that? Or actually, right? Then you can read here how to proceed.

Make hard boiled eggs. Cut narrow strips from a carrot:you need 7 per chick. You can use a Julienne cutter for convenience, but of course you can also just do it off the wrist 😉 . Cut a small slice off the bottom (widest, flatter side) of the egg. This way your chick will stand better. Then cut off the 'cup' of the egg. Scoop the yolks from the eggs (including the top), and mix with some mayonnaise, salt and pepper. Make sure it doesn't get too runny. Then put the filling in a piping bag and fill the eggs. Make a nice swirl on top; that will be the new cup 😉 . Place the top back on the egg, and use the carrot for the legs and beak. The eyes can be made from black sesame seeds or pepper. They will be appreciated!

Tip:Boil 2 extra eggs for the filling. The hard-boiled eggs that you use for the chicks can then be left full of egg yolk. You spray a small swirl of the mix on it and you're ready!

Egg tip 5:The surprise egg

Okay, we admit it.. this is a bit of cheating. We promised you 5 tips for boiled eggs. But this last one is the surprise egg. And the other alternatives may be surprising:of course the kids also expect chocolate during Easter. That's why this last egg tip, the surprise egg. That still looks like a boiled egg, doesn't it?

Ingredients

  • 1 Pack Dr. Oetker Mix for Cheesecake Natural (without bottom)
  • 500 grams of low-fat cottage cheese with lemon flavor
  • 250 ml. whipped cream
  • 400 ml. water
  • Hollow chocolate Easter eggs
  • Lemon Curd

Ber-ei-thing

Carefully cut the tops of the chocolate eggs. Follow the recipe on the cheesecake package to make the batter. Then pour the quark mix into the eggs. To the edge! Then put them in the fridge for 5 minutes.

Remove the eggs from the fridge, the filling has now become stiff. Scoop a ball out of the filling with a small spoon. Fill that with the Lemon Curd, and your boiled eggs (just slightly different) are almost ready! They still need more than 2 hours in the fridge. Put a padlock on it before the kids find these eggs…
