Break the chocolate into pieces. Melt it gently in a bain-marie with 5 tablespoons of water.
In a bowl, whisk the eggs with the sugar until the mixture turns pale and creamy.
Fold in the flour, baking powder, melted butter, and chocolate mixture.
Pour into a buttered cake pan.
Bake in a preheated 200°C oven for 30 minutes. Cool in the pan for 5 minutes before unmolding, then cool completely on a wire rack.
