Easy Beginner Bearnaise Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cl red wine
  • 2 shallots, chopped
  • 75g butter
  • 1 teaspoon flour
  • Thyme and bay leaves
  • Salt and pepper

Preparation

Melt half the butter with the chopped shallots in a saucepan over medium heat until lightly browned.

Add the red wine, thyme, and bay leaves. Simmer to reduce the liquid.

Mix the remaining butter with the flour to form a smooth paste, then stir it into the sauce.

Cook for a few minutes until thickened. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
