Red wine remains a cherished indulgence for many (always enjoyed in moderation), seamlessly blending into recipes alongside diverse ingredients. From winter 2016's brownie and hot chocolate infused with red wine, it now flavors... salt. This red wine salt stems from a collaboration between Oregon-based Jacobsen Salt Co., renowned for harvesting pristine sea salt from the state's coasts, and esteemed wine merchant Grouchau. It contains minimal alcohol.
"John Grouchau was instrumental in helping me launch my business," shares Ben Jacobsen in a Forbes interview. Their friendship led to a 2014 joint venture to craft this novel product. The Pinot Noir-infused salt demanded precise formulations to capture ideal color, aroma, and flavor. Available on Amazon for €13 (shipping excluded), the Pinot Blanc version is equally enticing.
We're eager to pair it with beef or fish dishes!
