Pizza is sacred comfort food—think gooey cheese, grease, and indulgence (four-cheese lovers, this one's for you). But at Industry Kitchen in Manhattan, New York, they've transformed it into a high-end masterpiece priced at $2,000 (€1,920). This isn't everyday pie; it's a rare taste of extravagance with ultra-premium ingredients few encounter regularly.
The star is 23-carat gold leaves artfully placed over prawns, beluga caviar, lobster, and white truffle sauce. Each comes from its origin: Stilton cheese from England, foie gras and truffles from France, caviar from the Caspian Sea region, and gold from Ecuador. Chef Braulio Bunay, who crafted this creation, calls it the 'peak of decadence'—ideal for a 'glitzy mood.' He notes it's among the priciest dishes he's prepared, yet the pizza form makes it surprisingly approachable. (The price? Less so.)
Available on Manhattan's south side, it requires 48 hours' advance order. Note: a slice costs about €240, a bite €50. Bon appétit!
