Pickle restaurants will open in New York

Pickles are definitely on trend! Not long ago, a soup made with this condiment went viral on the web. Today, two restaurants entirely dedicated to the pickle are preparing to open their doors in New York.

The star? The fried pickle!

The first was thought up by the owners of The Pickle Guys, a popular pickle shop on the Lower East Side. Building on the success of their business, they wanted to expand their offer by opening a restaurant. Their flagship product? The fried pickle, although other marinated and fried vegetables will be on the menu. They are not the only ones to have had this idea, since the owners of Jacob's Pickel, an establishment that also honors the pickle, will soon open Maison Pickel, another restaurant around this condiment.

Pickle sales increase

A trend that can be explained by the current craze around fermented foods, according to The Wall Street Journal . In the United States, pickle sales rose 1.3% in 2015, according to Pickle Packers International. This condiment is so trendy that some drink the pickle juice, claims the owner of The Pickle Guys. Even if Selena Gomez got into it, not sure we'll be tempted right away...
