A fruit as a meat substitute

Jackfruit (sometimes called jackfruit) resembles pulled chicken in structure. Delicious on a sandwich or in a wok dish.

Jackfruit is a huge fruit, when you cut it open it contains pulp with a fresh and sweet taste. The still unripe flesh easily absorbs other flavors and therefore you can season it very well or combine it with sauces and use the fruit as a substitute for meat.

It is especially ideal for making pulled pork or chicken. Top a sandwich or taco with it. You can buy the fruit at the toko, but it is also increasingly available at other supermarkets. For example, this variant of Upton's at Albert Heijn.
