Picture a warm summer evening in the garden, sharing these delectable fish tapas with friends. No Spanish roots needed—this simple recipe brings authentic flavor to your table.

Ingredients
Serves 6 as an appetizer
Prep time: 15 minutes

  • 6 fresh or thawed sardines, cleaned
  • 100 g Peppadews
  • 250 g natural cream cheese
  • 2-3 tbsp olive oil

How to Prepare the Sardines
Preheat your oven's broiler. Slit the sardines along the belly to create space for filling. Finely chop the Peppadews and mix with the cream cheese. Stuff each sardine generously. Brush with olive oil, season with salt and pepper. Arrange on a baking tray and broil for 5-10 minutes, until golden and cooked through. Serve hot with crusty bread.

Pro Tip Finely chop 1 red pepper and blend with extra-virgin olive oil for a spicy chili oil—perfect for heat lovers.
