On October 5, 2021, the world's top culinary talents converged in Antwerp for The World's 50 Best Restaurants Awards 2021. Restaurants from 26 countries across five continents earned spots in the prestigious top 50, with René Redzepi's Noma in Copenhagen securing the ultimate double honor: The World's Best Restaurant 2021 and The Best Restaurant in Europe 2021.
Noma assumes the No. 1 position from Mirazur, which now joins the Best of the Best hall of fame. Noma placed second in 2019 as the Highest New Entry after its bold relaunch, qualifying this iteration through transformative changes in location, concept, and ownership. Rounding out the top three are Geranium (No. 2) in Copenhagen and Asador Etxebarri (No. 3) in Atxondo, Spain.
