WTF:a British chain of stores sells already scrambled eggs

Eggs are one of the “practical” foods that can be cooked easily and quickly, and above all that never disappoint (just like pasta!). However, their (short) preparation is still a chore for a British agri-food chain which has decided to save its customers a few precious seconds. Iceland, a chain of stores specializing in the distribution of frozen products, sells eggs… already scrambled! Packed in a tightly sealed bag, the unappetizing mixture at first glance consists of 4 eggs from free-range hens, in other words which evolve freely in a vast space. Added to this is a “cloud of milk” and a little seasoning. For cooking, it is possible to heat the scrambled eggs for 90 seconds in the microwave, to fry them "in 3 minutes" or to boil the bag in a saucepan for 15 minutes.

Office workers and students targeted

The surprising product is mainly aimed at office workers who eat on the go in front of their computer and/or do not have the appropriate equipment to prepare lunch, as well as students. Late morning specialists should also get their money's worth here... Iceland's chef, Neil Nugent, says the bag of eggs sold at £1.50 (€1.70) combines practicality and quality. He recommends eating them served on a slice of bread with smoked salmon. It makes your mouth water! And you, would you be willing to buy such a product if it were sold in France?
