Lattes with delicate floral designs are the specialty of a Singaporean cafe

Illustrated latte coffees seem to be catching crowds in Asia. After Kangbin Lee, the Korean who draws works of art (including the superb Starry Night of Van Gogh!) on crème des cafés and Leo’s Espresso in Hong Kong with its 3D animals made with latte foam, here is the Carol Mel Café in Singapore. The establishment specializes in Sakura art (name given to the Japanese cherry tree):above each cup, delicate white and red floral representations that contrast with an often green, pink or orange background. Fresh and spring, everything we love! All the illustrations are the work of waiter Damien Soh, but it's not so easy to get your hands on these special lattes.

25 cups sold daily

Caroline Liew, the owner of the cafe, explains to the site Asia One that only 25 “Sakura coffees” are sold daily, and that you have to follow the procedure if you want to have your own. You must first subscribe to the Instagram accounts of the Carol Mel Café and the server/artist, from whom you must place an order (specifying the floral pattern you want) at least one day before your arrival via a private message . This somewhat complex process is put in place to "prevent the customer from being disappointed, as the supply of matcha (powdered green tea) used for the latte is limited », and especially because such beverages take quite a long time to make. If you are planning a trip to Singapore, be aware that the latte is sold for €5. For all the "likes" that you can collect on social networks, it's worth it... No?
