This will be the new tea trend

According to trend watchers, this will be the new trend in tea drinking in 2022. We have already started at the editorial office of Santé.

Are you a fan of white or are you going for green these days? Fresh, with a sprig of mint or a good-old bag? Then you are in the right place with the new tea trend. Because trend watchers predict that the Vintage Tea Party will be a hit in 2022. That means sitting for hours with your friends at a nicely set table, with homemade cake, cookies and sandwiches. Tea cups with a saucer, a bunch of flowers, one. tablecloth, and milk from a pitcher. And of course you have to chat about something during the vintage tea party. That is why Santé has listed a few tea facts for you. Cupa time!

The British

You know, of course, that the British drink a lot of tea. There is even a black tea named after them (English blend). We also owe them the high tea. And guess three times how many cups - added together - they drink themselves there on the other side of the Channel.. that's no less than 165 million cups a day!

Man-task

In Morocco, it is typically the man's job to serve tea. Not surprisingly, you will also find many tea houses and you will usually see men there socializing with each other. Mint tea is a huge part of everyday social life in parts of Morocco.

Caffeine

Tea also contains caffeine. If you want to reduce that, it's best to grab a green tea. It contains by far least caffeine. Do you actually have a favorite tea?

Boba

You may have heard of 'trend tea' boba. Also called bubble tea. Fun, tasty and quite fun, but also very high in calories. With ingredients such as sugar syrup, milk powder and tapioca (starch from cassava root), a large cup of boba even has as many or more calories as/than a hamburger!

Have a nice baptism

When and why we ever started dipping biscuits in our tea is hard to figure out. Behavioral scientists do think that warm and soggy cookies make us satisfied and give us a good feeling. In addition, our taste buds function better when we eat warm food (and drink) instead of cold.

Tips from readers

And of course you get the best tea with a tea strainer and loose tea. One of our readers pointed this out to us. "Only loose leaf tea. Not that grit in a bag.'
