peach cobbler in the slow cooker; a delicious dessert!

Last week we had diners in the house and I wanted to make some special dishes. One was the slow cooker pork tenderloin with red port sauce. This one was really delicious. But I also made a special dessert in the slow cooker, peach cobbler. So tasty and without having to put in a lot of effort. A topper.

Make peach cobbler in slow cooker

Like all slow cooker recipes, the peach cobbler is very easy to make. It reminds me a bit of the kaiserschmarren you eat in Austria after a morning of skiing on the slopes. Delicious and above all filling.

To make this peach cobbler in the slow cooker you will need the following:

  • 1.5 cans (600 grams) of drained peaches (of course you can also use fresh peaches)
  • pack of cake mix
  • 120 grams of butter
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon

Healthy is different, you can see that from the above ingredients for this peach cobbler. But hey, every now and then it's okay to spoil yourself.

Now comes the fun part, making the peach cobbler in the slow cooker. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. Or uhhh, better said:peach, peach.

  • Remove the butter from the fridge so that it can soften slightly
  • Cut the drained peaches into pieces and put them in a bowl
  • Mix the brown sugar with the peaches and cinnamon
  • Place the peach mixture in the slow cooker
  • Sprinkle the cake mix over it just like that
  • Make slices of the butter and divide them over the cake mix

Well, your peach cobbler is ready to start cooking in the slow cooker. You'll hardly believe it, but it's really going to be okay. After 5 hours on low in the slow cooker, the peach cobbler is ready to eat.

Tip:To prevent the cobbler from remaining too wet, you can put a tea towel under the lid of your slow cooker.

After a while of cooking, the cobbler will look like this. Not a face of course, but just hang in there, it's going to be really good. I have tossed everything a few times during the preparation, but I don't think that is necessary in principle. The whole will undoubtedly remain more beautiful if you don't.

Serving tip:I served the peach cobbler from the slow cooker with some vanilla ice cream and walnuts on top. So delicious!
