Tony's Chocolonely Expands Permanent Collection with Fully Traceable White Chocolate

Tony's Chocolonely is proud to welcome white chocolate into its permanent collection. The lineup now includes classic White Chocolate and the beloved White Raspberry Crackling Sugar—a limited edition from 2012 making a triumphant return. The anticipation was well worth it, thanks to a key breakthrough in traceability.

After years of effort, Tony's Chocolonely has achieved traceable cocoa butter from beans sourced directly from partner cooperatives in Ghana and Ivory Coast. This innovation paves the way for authentic white chocolate bars, celebrated through this permanent addition to the range.

What is traceable cocoa butter?
Chocolate's core ingredients are cocoa mass and cocoa butter. White chocolate uses only cocoa butter, while milk and dark varieties incorporate cocoa mass too. Tony's cocoa mass has long been fully traceable. Cocoa butter, however, presented a challenge—until last summer's game-changing partnership with Barry Callebaut, the world's largest chocolate manufacturer. They installed a dedicated tank and new piping in their factory to process Tony's traceable cocoa butter separately. Now, fully traceable white chocolate is a reality.
