Every year countless new trends emerge. Not only in the field of fashion, lifestyle and living, but also certainly in the food category. Which drink should you try and what will be the new kale of 2016?

1. Handy 'food hacks'
The internet is flooded with countless 'food hacks'. These are handy facts and ways to make cooking even easier. For example, how do you cut a mango? How do you make great and healthy cookies? And how do you prepare a fantastic evening meal that impresses your in-laws and uses only five ingredients?

2. Egg muffins
Healthy and tasty:egg muffins are totally hot. You can vary endlessly and combine your egg muffin with different vegetables, for example. Or make it a sweet version, with fruit, cinnamon and honey. Also handy:you can make and freeze different egg muffins. This way you always have a delicious, ready-to-eat omelet ready!

3. Replace carbohydrates with vegetables
Carbohydrates are so 2015! You see it more and more often in various recipes:carbohydrates such as rice and pasta are replaced by a green variant. For example, pasta from zucchini strings or rice from cauliflower. It is not only low in carbohydrates, but also delicious.

4. Order your food
We like to eat healthy, but we don't always have the time to get the groceries ourselves or the inspiration to come up with a healthy and tasty recipe. Fortunately, there are more and more companies where you can order healthy food. Not only complete meals, but also meal boxes containing all ingredients and recipes. An easy way to get enough healthy food at home in one go and also prepare delicious meals from it.

5. Cooking from head to toe
More and more people are aware of food waste and are therefore trying to prevent this waste in all kinds of ways. We often throw away too much food that is still good. Cooking from head to toe is a way to do something with all your leftover vegetables:the 'stem' of your broccoli or the stalks on your fennel tuber. Use it in your green smoothie for the next morning, throw it in your homemade pesto or make it nice and spicy and tart pickles.
