Here's the essential knowledge to avoid deception.
The first digit reveals the farming method:
- 0 for organic farming hens,
- 1 for free-range hens,
- 2 for free-range hens,
- 3 for caged hens.
The next two letters indicate the country of origin (FR = France).
The final elements detail the producer and laying house.
For example, take an egg from my fridge with code 0FRJGI4/5. This confirms it's from organic farming in France.
