Fine Dining with Panoramic Amsterdam Views on the Netherlands' Largest Ferris Wheel

Indulge in a Michelin-starred culinary experience this autumn at RAI Amsterdam, where renowned chef Joris Bijdendijk of Rijksmuseum's RIJKS restaurant partners with Smakenrad. Starting October 13, his signature dishes will be served in the Netherlands' largest Ferris wheel, positioned right in front of the RAI. The 27 heated gondolas transform into private dining pods, ascending to 50 meters for stunning city vistas.

Initiator Bram Verleg of Smakenrad emphasizes: "Not the width, but the height! A place where guests can savor food and drinks from Amsterdam's most celebrated chef, in the city's most spectacular setting—all completely COVID-proof, as the wheel ensures safe guest reception."

Smakenrad handles daytime food and drinks, while evenings feature Joris Bijdendijk's dinners. The menu rotates every three weeks, drawing from his acclaimed spots Wils at the Olympic Stadium and RIJKS at the Rijksmuseum. Exclusive culinary events are in development and will be announced soon.

The Ferris wheel operates daily until 10 p.m. through January 3, 2021. Daytime options include coffee with patisserie, hearty lunches, or drinks; weekends add breakfast and high tea.

Tickets can be booked here.

Smakenrad adheres strictly to all RIVM guidelines. Each heated cabin accommodates up to 5 people from the same household—or fewer, for flexibility.
