Expert Hands-On Review: Philips Pasta Maker Delivers Fresh Homemade Pasta in Just 10 Minutes

What is it?

The Philips Pasta Maker is a powerful food processor that produces up to 600g of fresh pasta—including spaghetti, penne, fettuccine, or lasagna—in one batch, ready in just 10 minutes. That's enough for a main course for 4-6 people or a side for 8-10. Experiment with shapes, colors, and flavors using spelt, chestnut, or buckwheat flour; incorporate eggs or spices during kneading; or substitute water with spinach, beet, or carrot juice for vibrant results.

What's its secret?

Full automation simplifies everything. Attach the disc for your chosen pasta shape to the outlet. Add flour and liquid to the bowl, secure the lid, select the program for your portion (300g or 600g), and let it run. After 3 minutes of kneading, perfect pasta extrudes continuously—simply cut it with the included scraper knife. No drying required; head straight to boiling water.

And in real life, how does it perform?

First impressions and assembly.

This machine exudes quality and sturdiness. It's straightforward to disassemble and reassemble, with all parts dishwasher-safe for effortless cleaning.

One minor issue: instructions are spread across the box, recipe book, and manual, which can feel scattered.

Manufacturing.

The Pasta Maker is 2-3 times faster than traditional hand-cranked machines. No more manual mixing, resting, rolling, cutting, or drying—total time from ingredients to pasta is just 10 minutes. Truly impressive efficiency!

The only drawback: a small amount of dough remains at the bottom, which isn't fully recoverable.

Cooking.

Our gluten-free test with 400g rice flour and 30g buckwheat flour resulted in pasta that crumbled slightly pre-cook. The standout: a blend of wheat semolina and T55 white flour, yielding pasta that holds shape perfectly, with no starch release during boiling.

Verdict

Outstanding! The Philips Pasta Maker delivers on its promises with ultra-fast results and a compact footprint (slightly larger than a standard food processor). Best feature? Zero countertop mess.
