Kids and adults alike can't resist dinosaurs—especially when they're crunchy and chocolate-dipped. For Taste Week #3, La Super Supermarket shares this delightful Dinosaurus®-style Jurassic treat, crafted by our expert grocers, journalist Lucie de la Héronnière and graphic designer Mélanie Guéret.
"Feel free to have fun—chat with your mouth full or devour them like a ravenous caveman," they joke. No rules here. Let's get baking!
Ingredients
For 20 Jurassic cookies
Preparation: 20 minutes
Cooking: 10 to 15 minutes
Rest: 2 hours
For the cookies
- 60g brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla sugar
- 1 whole egg + 1 egg yolk
- 140g flour + a little extra to flour the work surface
- 70g wholemeal flour
- 40g rye flour
- 125g butter
- ½ teaspoon salt
For the topping
- 150g chocolate (dark or milk, your choice!)
Recipe
For the cookies
- Preheat the oven to 180°C.
- Beat the sugars, salt, egg, and egg yolk. Add the flours and mix well.
- Incorporate the softened butter, cut into small pieces. Mix with your fingertips until you form a smooth dough ball—it's a joy to work with!
- Flour your work surface, roll out the dough, and cut into dinosaur shapes using cookie cutters. (Stars or hearts work too, but dinosaurs are way more fun!)
- Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until golden. Cool completely.
For the topping
- Melt the chocolate over low heat or in the microwave.
- Coat the cooled cookies (bottom side) with a knife, brush, or by dipping.
- Place on parchment paper to set. Then, enjoy!
