Making guacamole, 5 easy guacamole recipes

Now you can make guacamole in different ways. I also regularly change guacamole recipe, just to try something different. That's why I thought I could give you some tips about making guacamole yourself. In addition, I also find it useful if I have a list of the guacamole recipes 😉 .

Note:If you are going to make guacamole, make sure you have good avocados at home. The avocados should be well ripe, without being discolored of course. If the avocados are not ripe, it is better not to make guacamole, because you will not be able to make a tasty dip in terms of taste.

1. Making guacamole with lemon juice

Making a delicious guacamole with lemon juice, ready within 3 minutes. That sounds very tempting, doesn't it. It is 😉 .

What do you need to make this guacamole?

  • 2 avocados
  • salt and pepper
  • lemon juice from half a lemon
  • clove of garlic

Mash the two avocados in a bowl with the lemon juice of half a lemon. Squeeze in a clove of garlic and add salt and pepper. Wonderfully simple, healthy and fresh. Tastes great with homemade nachos.

tip:It is best to mash the avocados with a fork in the bowl. You can also make the avocados small with the immersion blender, but personally I think that is a mortal sin. The structure of the guacamole is best if you simply mash the avocados.

2. Making guacamole with egg

I used to always make the guacamole with egg. Also super tasty, but does not last as long, keep an eye on that.

What do you need to make egg guacamole?

  • 2 avocados
  • 2 hard-boiled eggs
  • salt and pepper
  • little mayonnaise

Mash the two avocados in a bowl, mash the hard-boiled eggs through and add a little mayonnaise to make it more spreadable. Salt and pepper to taste and gosh, your guacamole with egg is made!

3. Making guacamole with a pepper

I hadn't thought of this myself, but Chickslovefood came up with the idea to make a guacamole with a pepper. We think it's worth a try!

You need this for the guacamole with a pepper

  • 2 avocados (again 😉 )
  • 1/4 red onion chopped
  • 1/2 red pepper without seeds, finely chopped
  • juice of 1 lime
  • a little salt and possibly pepper

By now you have realized that making guacamole pretty much means:mashing everything. That is the case again this time. Mash the avocados, the chopped onion, half the pepper and smooth it with the lime juice. Maybe taste it in between so you don't add too much juice. That would be a waste! A little salt and/or pepper and you're done.

4. Guacamole with coriander

This one is new to me. Coriander through the guacamole. Sounds really good if you like cilantro, and I love it, so you'll be fine. If you use the dip as a topping on your nachos, I would just put the coriander over the nachos and not through the guacamole. But if you are going to make guacamole for lunch on a sandwich or something, then it is of course very tasty!

How do you make this guacamole recipe and what do you need?

  • 1/2 chopped tomato
  • 1/4 chopped red onion
  • 3 sprigs of coriander (finely chopped)
  • 2 avocados
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • juice of 1/2 lime
  • Pepper

You guessed it… mix everything together and enjoy! I have adapted this recipe a bit, but it is inspired by a guacamole recipe from the nutrition center.

5. Guacamole recipe with onion and garlic

You can of course also make a mix of the above guacamole recipes. Be sure that it tastes too.
  • 2 avocados
  • half a red onion, chopped
  • half a tomato in small pieces
  • half a red pepper without seeds, cut into small pieces
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • lime juice from 1/2 lime
  • some salt and pepper

Mix the mashed avocados with all the ingredients and add salt and pepper to taste.

Storage tip for homemade guacamole

Making guacamole is now peanuts for you. But how do you actually store guacamole? If you've tried storing guacamole before, you know that it will discolor pretty quickly. That looks a little less appetizing of course. If you want to keep the homemade guacamole, put the avocado pit between the mixture and cover the container with foil. The avocado pit ensures that your dip remains beautiful in color.
