Tired of pulling wilted salad from the fridge? With today's grocery prices, it's frustrating to waste fresh greens.
Here's a reliable trick I've used for years to keep salad crunchy much longer.
The secret: Store it in the fridge with paper towels (like Sopalin sheets) to absorb excess moisture.

1. Wash the salad thoroughly.
2. Dry it in a salad spinner. Give it 2-3 spins to remove as much water as possible.
3. Spread the salad on paper towels for a few minutes to air dry further.
4. Once drained, wrap the salad loosely in paper towels.
5. Place everything in a large freezer bag (or Ziploc).
6. Seal the bag and store in the vegetable crisper drawer.
Your salad stays crisp for days—no more soggy, rotting lettuce after washing!
This easy method works for all salad varieties: lettuce, batavia, frisée, romaine, iceberg, mesclun, arugula, dandelion, lamb's lettuce, oak leaf, and more.
It performs equally well on homegrown, market, or supermarket greens.
No fancy storage box needed—just a simple freezer bag extends freshness by several days.
