While he tended to openly denigrate and criticize veganism and vegetarians in his interviews, British chef Gordon Ramsay has just made it known that he intends to become… vegan. Suffice to say that this announcement, published on his Twitter account, had the effect of a bomb!
“I’m going to give veganism a chance… Yes, you guys heard that right,” reads a photo of a pizza from his new establishment, Gordon Ramsay Street Pizza. The post, which has been liked more than 32,000 times, also caused quite a stir. Some people say they are "disappointed" by the man who inspired the "Cauchemar en cuisine" program in France. Others were quick to express their joy through hilarious memes, photos, or even slews of hearts while others wondered. “Has your account been hacked? asks a Twitter user ironically. A second continues in the same vein and addresses the famous starred chef “Who are you and what have you done with Mr. Ramsay?! ”… Reactions fairly divided therefore, but there is still a majority of people enthusiastic about this decision.
So, is the great chef of the kitchen just surfing on the trend or does he really intend to get started in his personal life? We will only know with time but in any case, we salute his approach, if only to try a new approach in his recipes!
