Kilocalories: 595 per 100 grams

Fibres: One serving of tahini contains 12.5 grams of fiber. These make you feel full and ensure good bowel movements.

Minerals: 100 grams of tahini contains about 42 percent of the recommended daily amount of calcium. Calcium is important for building and maintaining your bones and teeth. Tahini also contains 50 percent of the recommended daily amount of iron, a mineral that ensures a good metabolism and oxygen transport.

Vitamins: Tahini contains vitamin A and various B vitamins. These provide energy and a healthy heart, among other things.

Difference in texture and taste with tahini

There are more and more types of tahini for sale. Tahini from Lebanon or Syria is quite thin and oily in texture. Tahini from Israel is thicker and more subtle in taste.
