Ingredients

  • 125g bitter cocoa
  • 1.250 kg of powdered brown sugar
  • 10 grams of vanilla powder or a pod
  • 1.5 liters of water
  • 1 liter of 90% alcohol

Preparation

Combine the bitter cocoa, powdered brown sugar, and vanilla, then add to 1.5 liters of water. Bring to a boil while stirring, then simmer for 5 minutes over low heat. Remove from heat and let cool completely.

Stir in the 1 liter of 90% alcohol. Pour into an airtight container and rest for at least 3 weeks away from light.

Filter the mixture thoroughly, bottle it, seal with corks, and store bottles lying down in a cool, dark place like a cellar.

Enjoy chilled with crushed ice as an after-dinner drink, in cocktails, or as a sauce over coffee cake.

Tips

Filter using coffee filters in a funnel for crystal-clear results.

Beautiful bottles and custom labels elevate the homemade charm.
