Wine Glass Mask: Elevate Your Wine Tasting by Smelling and Sipping at Once

Smelling wine is a crucial step in the tasting process, unlocking its rich aromas before the first sip. Now, innovative designer James Piatt has created the Wine Glass Mask, a groundbreaking glass that lets you inhale aromas and taste simultaneously. Shaped like a mask to cradle your nose perfectly, it features "air holes" on each side. As Piatt explains to Metro: "the molecules of the wine mix with the nitrogen and oxygen present in the air. Holes in the front of the Wine Glass Mask reduce the flow of nitrogen and oxygen and increase the speed at which they 'meet' the wine aromas in the glass as you inhale." This thoughtful design truly enhances the experience.

Designed to Fit Every Face

In essence, the ventilation system releases more vapors from the wine's surface, intensifying both aromas and flavors. Piatt adds, "The lens is actually an extension of the face, unlike normal lenses which are round because it's easier to make them that way." He promises, "Your wine experience will never be the same." Universally comfortable, its unique shape accommodates all face types. Piatt has launched a Kickstarter campaign aiming to raise $77,000 (€72,000) in 22 days. If successful, Wine Glass Masks will retail for around €23, with early bird pricing at €15.
