Enhanced Cognitive Abilities

In his experiments, participants consumed ice cream upon waking, then completed computer-based mental tasks. They demonstrated faster reaction times and superior information processing compared to a control group that skipped the treat. To test if cold temperature alone was responsible, Prof. Koga repeated the trial with ice water. While it slightly improved alertness, the effects were far less pronounced than with ice cream.
