Preheat the oven to 180°C (th. 8). Melt the butter in a saucepan. Drain the pears from their syrup and pat them dry, then slice into thin strips.
Layer the brick sheets two by two, brushing the surface with melted butter. Arrange the pear slices in the center, sprinkle with cinnamon and ginger, and add a piece of vanilla pod split lengthwise. Fold the bricks into triangles and brush the tops with more butter.
Place on a buttered baking sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes until golden and crispy.
Transfer to plates, garnish with star anise and fresh fruit, and serve immediately for a warm, aromatic treat.
