In the United States, Ladurée has launched a frozen macaroon

If there is indeed a sacred dessert (we are hardly exaggerating…), it is this:the macaroon, with its meticulous preparation and its perfect appearance, which inspires pastry chefs (whether traditional or creative). And when we talk about macarons, we can't help but think of Ladurée. Indeed, the French House founded in 1862 has largely contributed to making the small cake known throughout the world:now it is exported almost everywhere. And we just learned that in the United States, it is available in an ice cream sandwich. What?!

Not (yet?) in France

It was on August 3, 2017 that the official account of Ladurée US presented the “Macaron Glacé”. And the day was not chosen at random since it is National Ice Cream Sandwich Day (yes, it exists!). Because if in France, the ice cream sandwich is not necessarily well known (that said, we love Cookie Dough ‘Wich from Ben &Jerry’s), in the United States, it is a real institution. For the moment, Ladurée France has not reacted to this American launch, so we don't know if the Macaron Glacé will come to us (or if it will remain on the menu in the United States), but we must admit that we would very much like to taste (if someone from Ladurée reads us…).

In the meantime, you can always console yourself by placing a little ice cream between the two shells of a macaroon...
