Santa Claus Cupcakes: A Proven Hit for School Celebrations

I've made these Santa Claus cupcakes for my daughter's class a few years back—even the 13-14-year-olds raved about them. The recipe originated on my previous site, and they vanished quickly. While I focus here on the buttercream and decoration, find countless cupcake base recipes online. My go-to trick: adapt a favorite cake batter into cupcake liners for foolproof results every time.

Got plain chocolate, vanilla, or strawberry cupcakes needing a festive upgrade? Searching for a standout dessert for school Christmas dinner? These jolly Santas are sure to wow the kids. If time's short or you want a group activity, try German Christmas cookies instead.

  2. Spread thin pink layer on each cupcake.
  3. Fill piping bag with star tip with 2/3 remaining white buttercream.
  4. Pipe around edges for beard/hair, ending in a pom-pom for hat top.
  5. Pipe a mustache below.
  6. Place red wine gum nose in mustache center.
  7. Reserve 1 tablespoon white buttercream.
  8. Tint remaining buttercream bright red; pipe hat from side to white pom-pom.
  9. Tint reserved tablespoon black (or use chocolate buttercream). Dot eyes with toothpick—practice makes perfect!
