Love jam but find it goes moldy before you finish the jar, especially if you're the only one eating it at home?
There's a straightforward, time-tested trick to prevent mold on jam.
All you need is a bit of powdered sugar.

1. Take powdered sugar.
2. Simply add a thin layer of powdered sugar on top when you first open your jam jar.
There you have it—no more mold! You've successfully prevented mold growth on your jam.
Mold doesn't make the jam unsafe to eat if you scrape it off, but it's unappetizing. Powdered sugar inhibits mold by drawing out moisture.
Repeat as needed until the jar is finished.
