The last one that hit home was his dessert without oven , made with milk, sugar, vanilla, flour, butter and cornstarch; a creamy delight with a thin layer of caramel. Here's how to make this super creamy and gourmet dessert without an oven!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 120 g of flour
  • 1 liter of milk
  • 80g + 90g sugar
  • 100g unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 20 cl + 10 cl of water

THE PREPARATION STEPS:

  1. In a saucepan over low heat, melt the butter.
  2. Once the butter is brown (it should sing), add the flour and stir with a whisk.
  3. Gradually add the milk while stirring. The preparation must be homogeneous, without lumps.
  4. Next, add 80 g of sugar and the vanilla extract and mix until the cream thickens.
  5. Once ready, let it cool off the heat before pouring it into a glass cake dish.
  6. Chill for 30 minutes.
  7. Meanwhile, in a bowl, mix the cornstarch with 20 cl of water and set aside.
  8. For the caramel:in a frying pan, over low heat, pour 90 g of sugar and stir constantly with a wooden spatula, until you get a nice color, light caramel color.
  9. Add 10 cl of water, while stirring, then add the cornflour/water mixture.
  10. Cook until the caramel thickens. It should have the consistency of a Salidou cream.
  11. Take the milk cream out of the fridge and pour the caramel on top, spread it out and put the dish back in the fridge.
  12. After 30 minutes you can finally enjoy!
