Pinterest offers to identify a dish and its recipe in one click

We all do it:scroll through our Instagram feed and salivate over photos of dishes, each one more appetizing than the next (for your information, the hashtag #foodporn has more than 123 million posts…). Except that, unless you subscribe only to recipe sites (hello Tasty!), you often find yourself in front of dishes that are certainly tempting, but that it is difficult to identify. We're not even talking about imagining the recipe for said dish... Well, all that could be ancient history, thanks to Pinterest's "Built-in camera" feature, which should be implemented soon for France (and exists already in the United States).

Soon in France?

We told you about the principle of Lens (the integrated camera) for clothes and objects, well it's the same for food. Pinterest accounts for around 15 million “food” posts. The idea is that each of the photos on the platform (yes, it only works on Pinterest posts) can be analyzed to find out the name, the ingredients that make it up and the recipe. The app also indicates the diet (gluten-free, vegan, etc.) to which it is subjected and the time it takes to make the recipe.

Only (big) downside? The feature is still only available in the US…Pinterest's blog says it should be rolling out globally…but not when. Quick, quick!
