The food diary of presenter Hélène Hendriks

In the section 'Eating diary of' we take a look at that of presenter Hélène Hendriks.

“I eat healthy and diverse, with lots of fruit and vegetables. My menu is not vegetarian, I sometimes opt for a piece of chicken or fish. I don't count calories. I like to cook, especially trying things out. My favorite cuisine? I have not really, my size is wide. I also like to snack a lot. That means I have to find a balance. If I ate cheese and chips one day, I pay attention the next day.”

Hélène's food diary

Breakfast

“Depending on what I have at home. Sometimes I take something like cottage cheese with pear, nuts and honey and two glasses of ginger tea, but it can also be two hearty whole-wheat crackers with cheese or cold meats.”

Lunch

“Two whole wheat crackers with hummus, cheese or cold cuts. Or two sandwiches with peanut butter or cheese spread. Sometimes I choose a sandwich with grilled eggplant and chicken.”

Dinner

“That is varied. I like to try dishes. For example, yesterday I made meatballs with Mexican herbs, dried tomato, egg, onion, pine nuts and olives. I also took some rice and grilled vegetables from the over (eggplant, zucchini, onion, tomato and bell pepper). I really like vegetables. In general, my meal consists of at least half vegetables.”

In between

“I like to drink latte macchiato with soy milk. I also take ginger tea, water and a can of Coke Zero. And sometimes a glass of red wine. I snack with some pieces of chocolate with hazelnut or some cookies. Also delicious are toasts with pesto and cucumber and tomato with pepper, salt and olive oil.”
