You can re-grow these 7 vegetables

You can grow a new vegetable from these (leftover) vegetables. Good for your wallet, sustainable and secretly nice to see your own vegetables grow.

1. Spring onion/spring onion

Cut your spring onions about 5 centimeters from the bottom and place them in a glass with a layer of water. Change the water every other day and after two weeks you will have new spring onions. Easy is not it? Growing your own vegetables.

2. Leek

You can regrow a leek in the same way as your spring onions. Cut off the bottom generously and put it in a layer of water. Change the water every other day. Once the roots have grown strong, you can plant the leek in the ground to continue growing.

3. Mushrooms

Cut off the stem of a mushroom and plant it in a layer of wet soil. You can mix the soil with coffee grounds, which makes your mushrooms grow extra fast.

4. Ginger

Smart tip for those who like to drink ginger tea. Plant a ginger in the ground to grow a plant from it. Ginger originally grows in a warm climate, so place the pot indoors in a sunny spot for the best chance of success.

5. Lettuce

Cut off the bottom that holds the lettuce together and place it in a container with a layer of water. Change the water every other day and move the crop into potting soil after a few workings.

6. Garlic

If you leave a clove of garlic long enough, they will sprout. The green has a light garlic taste and you can use it in dishes. The garlic clove loses flavor as a result, so it is better not to use it afterwards. You can also grow a whole new bulb of garlic.

7. Basil

Cut off a branch with a few leaves from your basil plant. Put this in fresh water and wait until roots of a few centimeters grow. Plant the twigs with roots in a pot with soil.
